Saturday, August 29th, is the 22nd annual Baker Trail UltraChallenge, a 50-mile race that can be tackled solo or as part of a relay team. This year we are on the gorgeous Northern section of the Baker Trail. Whether you're registered for the race or not, join us Friday, July 24, for an all-paces, 18-mile training run (free and open to the public) which starts in the Allegheny National Forest.
If you plan to attend this training run, you must RSVP: link to sign-up form
We’ll cover the first 18 miles of this year’s course, complete with aid station(s) to help you fine-tune your hydration and nutrition strategies plus familiarize you with the course.
Logistics for this point-to-point run are as follows:
- Date: Friday, July 24
- Meet-up time: 7:30 a.m.
- Meet-up location: Gravel Lick Road (Click here for directions) We will leave a few cars at the Gravel Lick location and carpool to the starting point of our run, which is the Baker Trail northern terminus, also where the race starts. There is no cell reception. Download google maps or consider printing directions just in case.
- Run starts at 8:00 a.m. from northern terminus.
The aid station chart on the Participant Page shows our starting point as "Northern Terminus" and our finish point as "Gravel Lick Road." Also on this page you'll find details regarding the course (e.g. surfaces and elevation). This training run is nearly all single-track trail in the forest.
