Get out on the Rachel Carson Trail with a tough 8 mile hike from Emmerling Park to the Rachel Carson Homestead. When you finish, explore and enjoy Rachel's Sustainable Feast block party! There you'll find the best of Pittsburgh's chefs committed to buying locally, local farmers' markets, and many of the region's great environment, conservation and fair-trade organizations and vendors. On this hike you'll get to cover Rich Hill, Lefever Hill, Log Cabin Hill, and the infamous "roller coaster". Meet at the Springdale High School parking lot and carpool to Emmerling park.
There is a $10 per person fee for this hike, which includes admission to the Feast at the Homestead.
