This weekend will concentrate on a scenic 14 mile of the Baker from the intersection of Frozen Toe and McCutcheon roads north to the Cook Forest Fire Tower. The trail is in generally great shape through here (except for .3 miles of heavily logged forest near Summerville Road) and an early scouting party reports that simple loping and blazing should be sufficient. So, pack plenty of food and water and prepare for an easy weekend of camping out with friends at the Ridge Campground and just enjoying the beautiful woods with clippers and paint brush in hand. We plan to have a special all chainsaw maintenace just to focus on the problem area later in the summer. Cook Forest (Ridge Campground)
